Colorado Springs police say a murder case from 1976 has been solved thanks to DNA evidence.
On Dec. 3, 1976 Janet K. Conrad was murdered at the Antlers Hotel. She was found dead in a 10th floor laundry room.
Investigators collected evidence but could never find a suspect. In 2009 Colorado Springs police received a grant to start working "cold" sexual assault and homicide cases.
With the help of that money DNA matched Robert Baillie, 58, who is currently serving a sentence for sexual assault at the prison in Cañon City.
