Coroner ID's Pueblo Plane Crash Victim

A small aircraft crashed at the Pueblo Memorial Airport Sunday morning, killing the sole occupant on board.

The Pueblo County coroner has identified the victim as 68-year-old George McHenry. Mark Lovin with the airport told 11 News that the plane McHenry was flying was an "experimental aircraft."

The crash forced the closure of the two biggest runways at the airport.

Mitt Romney, scheduled to speak at the Weisbrod Aircraft Museum Sunday afternoon, canceled his event out of respect for the victim and his family. Romney had not yet landed in Colorado at the time of the crash.

There are currently no plans to reschedule.

The Obama campaign, also holding an event in Pueblo Sunday, followed suit in canceling their event. Local Democratic leaders were expected to attend, the president himself was not making an appearance.
