A tragic ending for the missing twin engine plane--a National Guard helicopter found it crashed 10,800 feet in Eagle County, leaving two dead.

Authorities have still not reported how many were on board the plane when it crashed, or who they were. Eagle County sheriff's spokeswoman Kris Friel says the plane is a twin-engine Beech 60 Duke whose registered owner lives in Brownwood, Texas.

Friel says a National Guard helicopter crew located the wreckage Thursday morning about 3 1/2 miles north of Edwards and 80 miles west of Denver.

Controllers lost radar contact with the plane at about 4:30 p.m. Wednesday as it was preparing to land at the Eagle County airport.
