Police are working in a Colorado Springs neighborhood after reports of a homeowner shooting a dog.
CSPD says the homeowner shot the pit bull in their yard at 3965 Vondelpark Place. That's located east of Centennial Boulevard and south of Garden of the Gods Road.
Police say the homeowner described the dog's behavior as "aggressive."
The homeowner explained the dog had been roaming the neighborhood all day and had jumped up on his wife twice, knocking her down.
He says he called the Humane Society twice, before he grabbed his weapon.
The Humane Society has recently received several previous complaints about the dog, which lives nearby.
At this time, police don't believe the shooter will face charges but the dog's owner is likely to be cited.
There were no witnesses to the shooting, but police say they'll review 911 calls to further their investigation.
