The Pikes Peak United Way announced Friday President and CEO JD Dallager will step down next year.
Dallager will leave his position on June 30, 2013, after serving six years at the head of the organization.
“It has been a rewarding privilege and an honor to serve our community through Pikes Peak United Way,” says Dallager. “I am grateful to have worked with so many people and organizations who care deeply about this community and who willingly share their time and resources to address critical needs and affect positive change.”
According to a news release from the Pikes Peak United Way Dallager transformed the organization from “being a primary funder of local health and human service nonprofit organizations to a leading partner, innovator and collaborator in the nonprofit sector.”
Dallager played a role in developing the statewide 2-1-1 system, which helps people connect with community resources. He also initiated “Success By 6.” It’s a school readiness program that focuses on home visitation, parental education and early learning in Harrison School District 2 and District 11 in Colorado Springs.
“On behalf of the Board of Directors, I can say that we are very sorry to see JD retiring,” says El Pomar’s Terrance McWilliams, Chair of Pikes Peak United Way’s Board of Trustees. “JD has been a transformative, dedicated, caring President and CEO of Pikes Peak United Way over the past six years. We will miss him, but we thank him for all he has done for Pikes Peak United Way and our community, and we wish him and his family all the best.”
The board of directors will form a search committee to find Dallager’s replacement.
