Photos Of Flooding, Sept. 11-13

Rain pummeled Colorado Springs and the surrounding area over a two-day period, with some parts of town getting close to a year's worth of rain in a matter of hours.

11 News Chief Meteorologist Brian Bledsoe provided the following rain totals for Thursday:

Fort Carson: 13.25 inches
Cheyenne Creek: 11.33 inches
Bear Creek: 10.50 inches
Manitou Springs: 7.52 inches
Upper Queens Canyon: 7.33 inches
Garden of the Gods: 7.26 inches
Air Force Academy: 6.46 inches
Briargate: 2.95 inches

The rain washed out a large portion of Gold Camp Road between tunnels one and two. This stretch of road, located near the parking lot above Helen Hunt Falls, has been popular over the years for motorists, cyclists and runners alike. (Credit: Stephen)
