Alcohol may have played a role in a pedestrian's death early Friday morning in Denver.
A 21-year-old man was killed crossing the street near the University of Denver campus at 12:30 a.m. Sister station KCNC says there is no crosswalk where the victim was crossing.
According to police, the driver stopped after the accident and has been cooperative with the investigation.
The victim was reportedly at nearby Jerusalem's restaurant shortly before the accident. The manager told KCNC the man and his friends were there.
"I knew these kids very well. We are very friendly with each other. I’m going to tell them to be just be careful. Don’t drink a lot, don’t cross the street. It’s terrible. It’s just a very sad story tonight," Mazen Aswed said.
Police are investigating the possibility that the victim was drinking.
