Colorado Springs police are looking into two robberies that occurred within a half hour of each other in separate parts of town Friday night.

Shortly after 9 p.m., customers at the Dollar Tree on 1530 S. Circle Dr. say a man entered the store, pulled a gun on the cashier and customers, and demanded money.

Witnesses say the man is described at a black male, standing 6-foot-2, wearing a black ski mask, black jacket and pants.

The man took money from the register and took off on foot.

About a half hour later, three men walked into the Captain D’s at 1107 N. Academy Blvd. with handguns and held the restaurant up. Employees say they were all black men in their 20s, dressed in black with masks.

After getting money from the employees, the three took off across the parking lot.

In both instances, police did not find any suspects and no one was harmed in the robberies. There is no word if these robberies were somehow related.
