One person is dead after a Ford Focus and a semi collided.
The accident happened on Highway 160 at mile marker 269 just west of La Veta Pass at 10:37 a.m. Monday.
According to State Patrol, the driver of the Focus was headed westbound when he suddenly veered into the eastbound lane and crashed into the rear tires of a semi-truck. The Focus then went off the road. Driver Douglas Hall, 48, died at the scene. Authorities say Hall is from Canon City.
The driver of the semi was uninjured. Troopers say both drivers were wearing seat belts.
The crash remains under investigation.
