An officer in pursuit of a vehicle was t-boned at a busy Colorado Springs intersection Thursday morning.
The officer suffered "very minor" injuries, while the three occupants of the pickup truck that hit him were uninjured.
The crash happened around 7 a.m. at Academy and Airport. The vehicle involved was not involved in the original pursuit. CSPD says that the truck was heading westbound through the intersection at the same time that the police cruiser sped through going southbound. Though the truck had a green light, police say the officer had his emergency lights on when he went through the intersection. The truck driver is likely to be ticketed.
At this time, we have no information on the original chase. We have placed calls with the police department, and will let you know what we find out.
