Obama And Romney To Lunch Privately Together

For much of the year, they were bitter rivals on the campaign trail, each vying for the same job.

But Thursday, President Obama and Mitt Romney are putting the election aside and sitting down for lunch together.

As the location--the White House Private Dining Room--indicates, the lunch will be a private affair between the two men. No press will be allowed.

A White House spokesman says there is no specific agenda for the meeting, but that the president would like to talk about Romney's ideas for making government more efficient.

Obama expressed a desire to meet with his former opponent in his acceptance speech Nov. 7 and again in his first post-election press conference, but many in the political world were uncertain if such a meeting would ever come to fruition.
