The Pueblo Police Department has issued another scam alert for residents.

This latest scam involves promises to reduce potential victims' credit card rates.

According to police, people have reported receiving calls from a man with a "heavy foreign accent" offering to help reduce their Wells Fargo VISA credit card rates. In many cases, the scammer will transfer the call to a second man, who also has an accent. Both men have reportedly been very aggressive over the phone as they try to get the would-be victim to release personal information, including the last four digits of their Social Security number.

Wells Fargo says they do not have the credit card reduction offer the scammers are promising.

Police remind the public that Wells Fargo and other large institutions should have your information available, and would not need to ask. Do not give out personal information to someone who calls you.
