City Council has named Neil Levy as the new mayor of Woodland park.

Levy replaces former Mayor David Turley, who resigned following allegations that he inappropriately touched a 17-year-old boy in a hot tub at his home.

Turley says he is innocent of the charges. Our partners at The Gazette say that on Monday he waived his right to have the evidence against him presented in court. He is scheduled in court on Sept. 22, where he will enter a plea on the case.

City Council interviewed five candidates before voting. The vote was tied 3-3 between Phil Mella and Neil Levy.

The two candidates addressed the council again, but the vote was still tied, so the council crew names out of a bowl to make the final decision, according to The Gazette.
