There is a new bus route to service customers on the northeast side of Colorado Springs.
The area has seen a lot of growth in the past few years, but until now there has been no public transportation for people who live and work in the area.
The new route will run from the Citadel Mall and go north on Powers to Barnes, turn east on Barnes and continue to Tutt Boulevard. It will then go south on Tutt to Constitution and return to the Citadel Mall.
Numerous city officials were in attendance for the new line's first run Monday morning. Among them were Mayor Steve Bach, City Council members Jill Gaebler and Jan Martin, Dave Lethbridge with the Public Works department, Transit Services Division Manager Craig Blewitt and Henry Allen, president of the Colorado Springs NAACP.
For more information about routes, schedules and fares visit the City of Colorado Springs website.
