Roads are icy in spots that saw accumulating snow yesterday. Allow yourself plenty of extra time this morning and dress warmly, as wind chills are in the single digits and teens for many. A second disturbance will bring another round of snow showers to the Front Range this afternoon and early evening. While not as heavy as yesterday, some additional light accumulations over the higher terrain will be possible, including Teller and Northern El Paso Counties. Motorcycle riders could be seen riding through downtown Colorado Springs Sunday morning in honor of fallen law enforcement officers in the Pikes Peak region.
It was part of the 9th annual Pikes Peak Fallen Officer Memorial Ride. This year it honored Tom Clements, the Colorado Department of Corrections director who was gunned downed at his home in the Monument area least year.
The event was started as the Jared Jensen Memorial Poker Run in 2006 in honor of the detective who was killed in the line of duty.
The event was renamed after Colorado Springs officer Ken Jordan was killed later that same year.
Riders in today's event started at Cowboy's in downtown Colorado Springs and rode through Falcon, Castle Rock and Palmer Lake.
