Twelve members and associates of a motorcycle gang were arrested last Friday on a variety of charges. Another suspect was already in custody of the Department of Corrections and six others remain fugitives.
The nineteen suspects were all named in two indictments for firearm and drug crimes originally filed under seal by the U.S. Attorney’s Office. The court hearings and arraignments in those cases began Monday.
The indictments charge that sixteen of the suspects gathered to distribute cocaine and marijuana between 2005 and 2011 at locations in Commerce City or Denver. The locations were known as the Hell’s Lovers Club House.
Those sixteen suspects are face charges including maintaining a drug-involved premises, possession with intent to distribute cocaine, possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine, prohibited person in possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking felony, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, conspiracy to distribute cocaine, conspiracy to maintain a drug-involved premises, and aiding and abetting. Agents and officers recovered firearms, approximately $16,500 in cash, and ammunition.
Three other suspects are charged in the second indictment for charges that include possession of stolen explosive materials, possession of a prohibited weapon, possessing, making and transferring prohibited weapons, possession of body armor by a prohibited person, and aiding and abetting. Agents and officers recovered two flash bang explosive devices stolen from the Adams County Sheriff’s Office, one ballistic vest stolen from the Adams County Sheriff’s Office, one ballistic vest stolen from the DEA, one sawed off shotgun, one pistol, and two rifles, among other things.
If convicted, some of the suspects are facing prison for the rest of their lives. Possible economic penalties also range from $250,000 to $4 million.
