Updated: 05/14/2013 - I'm still focused on meeting my goal of doing a pull-up. And I'm almost there! But I'm always getting this question:
A Cortez Middle School teacher has been arrested on accusations that he punched a sheriff's deputy while trying to get to a blocked road during a wildfire.
The Cortez Journal reports 43-year-old John McHenry is charged with second-degree assault on an officer, obstructing government operations, resisting arrest and obstructing an officer.
Deputy Christopher Barry of the Montezuma County sheriff's office says he was punched in the face after telling McHenry he couldn't go on road that was closed Oct. 24 due to the Roatcap Fire. McHenry had said he needed to rescue his horses.
McHenry is free on a $60,000 property bond and intends to contest the allegations.
