Man Accused Of Having Explosive Devices Indicted

A federal judge has ordered that a suburban Denver man accused of trying to trade explosive devices for cocaine or cash be held without bond.

The judge said Wednesday that Richard Lawrence Sandberg of Morrison should be held without bond until his case is resolved. Sandberg was arrested last week after an undercover officer reported leaving Sandberg's home with three explosive devices after discussing trades with Sandberg.

A federal grand jury indicted Sandberg this week on three firearms charges. The first two counts allege he possessed firearms not properly registered to him. The third count alleges possession of firearms by a prohibited person because investigators say he is an unlawful drug user.

Sandberg has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
