A man wrongfully arrested last year is now suing the city of Colorado Springs.
James Sorensen was arrested in July 2012 for openly carrying a gun in a city park--something that has been legal since 2003. After police completed an internal investigation, they determined policy violations were made regarding Sorensen's arrest.
Sorensen was detained, cuffed and put in a holding cell for an hour after his arrest. He has filed a lawsuit against the city over the incident.
The Police Department says appropriate administrative action was taken after the review of the incident was completed.
