Man Shot While Walking Down The Street

A shooting victim says he was walking with three friends Wednesday night when the gunman ambushed him.

He told police the suspect shot him in the leg, then took off before he and his friends could get a good look at him or her.

The incident happened just before 9 p.m. in the area of Union and Airport in Colorado Springs.

After being shot, the victim ran to a nearby house for help while his friends, scared for their own safety, ran for cover. The victim was taken to the hospital with a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the upper leg.

Police are still trying to figure out who shot him--and why.
