Updated: 05/20/2013 - Two weekends left to catch one great show!
A shooting overnight in Colorado Springs leaves one man in the hospital, while Springs police search for the shooter.
The shooting took place in the IHOP parking lot on 512 N. Chelton Rd. shortly before 3 a.m. Sunday morning. Police were first called to the scene on reports of a disturbance involving a gun; they were later informed en route that a man had been shot.
Upon arrival, officers found the victim sprawled in the parking lot, a gunshot wound to his chest. He was transported to the hospital with serious but likely non-life threatening injuries.
Police initially believed the suspect was Hispanic, but after several witness interviews, now believe it was a white male in his late teens, probably no older than 20, 5-foot-8 and about 150-160 pounds. He might have been driving a maroon 4-door vehicle.
Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call police at 444-7000 or Crime Stoppers at 634-STOP.
