Man Shot Outside Springs Convenience Store

A suspect remains on the loose hours after shooting a man in a convenience store parking lot.

According to Springs police, the suspect was sitting in a parked car outside the 7-Eleven at 3805 E. Pikes Peak just before midnight when the victim pulled up next to him. Just seconds later, the victim began backing out, then jumped out of his car and started running away. The suspect fired several shots at him, striking the victim in the leg.

Police found the victim by the nearby Woody's Bar and Grill. The suspect had already left the area in a 4-door sedan with at least two other men inside. Suspect descriptions are not being released at this time.

The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Anyone with information on this crime is asked to call police at 444-7000 or Crime Stoppers at 634-STOP.
