An argument outside a smoke shop turns violent when a man is shot in his car in the parking lot of Laylina Smoke Shop early Saturday morning.
The victim, Jose Soto, was rushed to the hospital by witnesses on the scene. They tell police that more than 30 cars left the area after the shooting.
Soto told police that he encountered a Hispanic man with whom he had problems with in the past. The two got into an argument in the parking lot of the hookah lounge at 1609 S. Nevada Ave. Soto attempted to open the door of the car the suspect was sitting in, when the suspect pulled a gun and fired multiple shots at Soto. One of those bullets struck Soto in the leg.
Soto suffered non-life threatening injuries in the shooting.
