Salida Officer On Leave After Shooting

An officer is on paid leave right now after he shot and killed a suspect.
It happened in Salida on Sunday.

Police say a parolee was breaking into a home with a chainsaw.
When officers arrived, they say the suspect fired shots at them. Police returned fire and killed the man.

He has been identified as Theodore Vanosdall. He was on parole from South Dakota.
