Police swarmed a Springs bar early Friday morning after a man was shot in the head.
The 21-year-old male was found alive but in life-threatening condition after police arrived at the Copperhead Road Saloon, located in the area of North Academy and North Carefree in Colorado Springs. He later died at the hospital.
Police now say the gunshot victim is actually the suspect in the shooting. He was reportedly involved in an altercation with security at the bar, resulting in shots being exchanged. Police spoke with the other party involved during the investigation, and say they have no intention of putting anyone in custody at this time.
A spokesman for the Colorado Springs Police Department could not confirm if the shooting was an act of self-defense when asked.
