Two suspects are on the loose after shooting a man during an attempted carjacking early Friday morning.
The victim was sitting in his vehicle just after midnight when the suspects approached him and ordered him at gunpoint to get out. Police say one of the suspects then fired at the victim's leg three times, hitting him twice.
After wounding the victim, the suspects fled. Police have not said if they got away with anything.
The victim was transported to the hospital and is expected to recover.
Both suspects are black males. The one who shot at the victim is believed to be in his 20s, and is described as being about 6-foot-2 and between 165-170 pounds. He was dressed in dark clothing.
The second suspect's age is unknown. He was reportedly much shorter than the first suspect, standing about 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-8. Police describe him as "dark complected" and say he was wearing a black and yellow baseball cap.
The incident happened on the 500 block of South Hancock in Colorado Springs.
If you have any information on this incident or the suspects' whereabouts, you are asked to call police at 444-7000 or Crime Stoppers at 634-STOP.
