We'll get a brief break around the midday, with thunderstorms redeveloping by the afternoon. Some showers will contain small hail, lightning, and even breezy conditions. We'll be monitoring burn scars for any brief, heavy rain to develop and situate over a vulnerable area. Head over to the "Weather" tab for a full look at the week's forecast.
Police say a man was assaulted and robbed at gunpoint while he was inside his own car. The thieves got away with his cell phone and are currently on the run.
It happened Sunday night near Jet Wing and Academy in Colorado Springs.
Police say the victim was driving around the parking lot of a shopping center, when two men started pounding on his car windows. That's when one suspect opened the car door and punched the driver in the ribs. Police say the other suspect then pointed a gun at the driver and took his cell phone.
The two thieves got away but police say both are described as black men between the ages of 23 and 25 years old. The younger suspect is around 5' 9" and 120 pounds. Police say he was last seen wearing a long blue t-shirt and jeans.
Police say the older suspect was the one with the gun. He's described around 5' 9" and 230 pounds. He was last seen wearing a dark shirt and jeans.
