Man Holds Up 7-Eleven With Souvenir Baseball Bat

Trading a ski mask for a motorcycle helmet, a gun for a small baseball bat, a 7-Eleven employee says an unusually armed crook held up his store early Thursday morning.

The shaken up employee tells 11 News he's just glad no one got hurt.

Police say the suspect walked into the 7-Eleven on Barnes and Powers in Colorado Springs just before 1 a.m. and demanded cash from the clerk on shift. Instead of a gun, the clerk says the suspect threatened him with a small souvenir baseball bat.

After the clerk complied with the suspect's demands, the suspect left the area with an unknown amount of money. He was last seen driving off in an eastbound direction.

The suspect is believed to be a white male in his 30s. Along with the motorcycle helmet, he was reportedly wearing a blue shirt, dark pants and dark shoes.
