In broad daylight, a stranger forced his way into a woman's home and sexually assaulted her.
Police said the incident happened Wednesday at 4:20 p.m. on the 3900 block of East Bijou, which is near Academy and Platte in Colorado Springs.
The victim was home Wednesday afternoon when she says someone knocked on her door. When she answered it, the man on her doorstep shoved his way into the home and attacked her.
Afterwards, the woman was transported to the hospital, where she met with officers and told them what happened.
The suspect has been described as an Hispanic male, about 5-foot-7 and stocky, but "physically fit." He reportedly had short spiky hair, blue eyes and stained teeth that appeared brown in color. He was wearing a blue shirt, jeans and black Nikes at the time of the incident.
The sex assault was the third reported in as many days, but police say it does not appear at this time to be connected to the other cases from this week.
