Updated: 05/14/2013 - I'm still focused on meeting my goal of doing a pull-up. And I'm almost there! But I'm always getting this question:
A taser wasn’t enough to subdue a Colorado Springs man who police say was high on drugs and fighting with family members early Saturday morning.
Police were first called to a neighborhood at Rebecca Lane and Van Teylingen Drive on a report of a family disturbance. The responding officers were told that the 23-year-old son of the reporting party was fighting with the family and high on drugs. The man had left the home before police arrived.
Officers searched the area near North Carefree Circle and North Academy Boulevard. A short time later, police spotted the man at the Walgreen’s on 3480 N. Academy Blvd.
Police say the man, under the influence of LSD, refused to comply with officer orders. At one point, the man made an aggressive move at police, forcing officers to tase him. Undeterred, the man continued to fight with officers. Police tell 11 News it took three officers to eventually bring the man down and place him in handcuffs.
The man was treated at the scene for abrasions suffered during the scuffle with cops and was taken to the hospital to undergo detox. There is no word yet on exactly what charges he will face.
