Police have identified the victim in a serious hit and run accident. Helen Duryee, 60, is in critical but stable condition.
Pueblo police say Duryee was crossing the northbound lanes of Troy Avenue at Oakshire Lane when she was hit Sunday. She was lying in the northbound lanes of Troy when when police found her.
Officers say they found the vehicle in the north parking lot of Praise Assembly church, but the driver was nowhere to be found.
Diego Fernando Quintana-Fernandez, 25, later turned himself in to police. He is facing charges of vehicular assault, leaving the scene of an accident involving serious bodily injury and DUI.
The accident happened at approximately 12:15 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 15.
