Pueblo police have arrested a man after an overnight shooting.

30 year old James Hurtado is currently in custody.

Around 2:40am Wednesday, Police were called to the 1000 block of Cypress Street. As officers headed to that neighborhood they found two people in a car suffering from gunshot wounds.

According to police, the man and woman went to the house to pick up another person. The victims then got in a fight with Hurtado. Police say things turned physical and Hurtado grabbed a shotgun and fired it at the man and woman.

Both victims were taken to a hospital and treated for their injuries.

Police arrested Hurtado and charged him with 2nd degree assault.
