After a mild Saturday, temperatures to finish the weekend will be MUCH colder! A system to our west pushes into SE Colorado overnight. Snow showers will be possible by early Sunday morning across the I-25 corridor with a change to rain and snow showers through the afternoon. Accumulation should be minimal as most moisture looks to be light and temperatures will warm into the upper 30s and 40s through the afternoon. Pueblo police have arrested a man after an overnight shooting.
30 year old James Hurtado is currently in custody.
Around 2:40am Wednesday, Police were called to the 1000 block of Cypress Street. As officers headed to that neighborhood they found two people in a car suffering from gunshot wounds.
According to police, the man and woman went to the house to pick up another person. The victims then got in a fight with Hurtado. Police say things turned physical and Hurtado grabbed a shotgun and fired it at the man and woman.
Both victims were taken to a hospital and treated for their injuries.
Police arrested Hurtado and charged him with 2nd degree assault.
