A judge allowed a man accused of firing a gun at a birthday party to bond out of jail Tuesday without having to pay a dime, as long as he promised to stay away from alcohol.
Police say David Gavin got upset, went into a house on the 4500 block of Hollyridge Drive in Colorado Springs to get a gun, and then went outside and fired at least one shot.
Several people, including children, were in the area at a birthday party at the time.
Police say Gavin was passed out inside the house when they arrived. He was arrested without incident.
