BROOMFIELD, Colo. (AP) -- A Broomfield man accused in the slaying of his friend in August is facing additional charges of possession of child pornography.
An arrest affidavit says investigators searching 34-year-old Matthew Burnett's home found two hard drives that contained 2,475 images and 129 videos of child pornography.
The Broomfield Enterprise reports the home where the images were found also is the site of a home day care run by Burnett's common-law wife. The day care center closed after Burnett's August arrest.
Burnett is accused of strangling his friend, James Clifford Fernandez, and dragging his body into the street.
Burnett appeared in court Thursday on two felony counts tied to possession of the pornography. An arraignment in the murder case was set for March 6.
