A system producing heavy snow in the central mountains arrives in SE Colorado overnight Sunday into Monday bringing moisture, windy conditions and colder temperatures. Snow showers will be possible across the I-25 corridor to start the day. This system will produce bands of snow through the day Monday. Areas under these bands will see periods of heavy snowfall which, with windy conditions, could create travel difficulties. Police said a man accused of being high on methamphetamine started taking his clothes off as he ran away from them.
It happened at about 10:30 a.m. Saturday on the 3200 block of East Platte Ave. That is near North Chelton Rd. in Colorado Springs.
Police said it started when they responded to a medical call. They said that when the arrived, 21-year-old Freddie Cazarez ran away and started to take his clothes off even though it was snowy and the wind was blowing creating very cold conditions.
Police said that Cazarez then ran into the shed of a nearby business and picked up a metal bar and a gas can. They said that he refused to drop the metal bar and was tased.
Police said Cazarez was then taken to the hospital. He faces charges of Second Degree Criminal Trespass, Misdemeanor Theft and Obstruction.
