After snowfall along the I-25 corridor Sunday be on the lookout for slick road conditions tonight and during your Monday morning commute. Some areas picked up several inches of snow through the day and, while additional snowfall is not expected to continue, snow packed and wet roadways will freeze overnight as temperatures drop into the teens. Bundle up and take it slow as you head out on the roads. Click on the 'Weather' tab for more...
Major construction over the weekend into next week could have an impact on your drive.
Starting Saturday, new work on Austin Bluffs could cause delays for those driving around on the east side of the Springs.
At 7 a.m. Saturday, crews will close the left turn lane at the Brenner Place and westbound Austin Bluffs intersection (near the northeast end of Palmer Park). This closure will remain in place through the fall of 2014, when the Austin Bluffs Parkways median reconstruction is expected to be completed.
Also Saturday, the right through lane will be temporarily closed on westbound Austin Bluffs near Brenner Place. It will reopen at 9 p.m.
From 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Austin Bluffs and Oro Blanco/Platinum Drive, drivers can expect delays at the intersection due to non-functioning traffic signals. Police will be at the intersection directing traffic while the traffic signals are off. They will be operational again after 6 p.m.
Monday through Tuesday of next week, access to Platinum Drive from Austin Bluffs will be blocked due to utility work.
Drivers are advised to use alternate routes. The city says access to homes and businesses will be maintained during this work.
