KKTV is happy to announce the addition of Dianne Derby to our main anchor team. Derby will join Don Ward, Meteorologist Brian Bledsoe, and Sports Anchor Jesse Kurtz and anchor our 5:30, 6:30 and 10:00 p.m. newscasts.
Derby comes to us from the CBS affiliate in Greenville/Spartanburg, South Carolina, where she anchored the weekday evening news. During her 5 year tenure, Derby also anchored the weekend evening news and was the ‘Problem Solver’ reporter.
On the move to KKTV and Colorado Springs, Derby commented, “I am thrilled to join the KKTV team and honored for the chance to work with a staff committed to bringing viewers the best breaking news coverage. When I arrived in Colorado Springs for the first time, I knew it was a place I wanted to call home. It's one of the most beautiful areas of the country and I can't wait to explore the community and great outdoors with my family and friends.”
“Dianne’s experience as a consumer investigator and evening anchor will bring tremendous value to our content and on-air presentation,” said KKTV 11 News Director Liz Haltiwanger.
And Nick Matesi, general manager of KKTV added, “We’re very excited to have Dianne join us. What makes her so terrific is what you see on TV is the same person you see in regular everyday conversation. She’s a very talented journalist and communicator, and equally important in my book, just a real nice person.”
Derby is already here, learning her way around our newsroom. She is scheduled to start anchoring on April 26th.
