A woman convicted of killing a mother and her young child in a drunk driving accident last summer was sentenced to 30 years in prison.

Arica Vlach was still drunk from the night before when she collided with Nicole Enderle's minivan at Judge Orr and Log Road in eastern El Paso County. According to arrest papers, Vlach admitted to drinking beer and liquor the night before the crash. The crash happened at 9 a.m. on July 12 of last year. An ER doctor told 11 News it's not uncommon for drivers to still be drunk hours after they stop drinking.

Enderle, 42, and her 3-year-old son Alexander Enderle were killed. Two-year-old Zoe Enderle survived the crash.

Investigators say Vlach's airbag system recorded a speed of nearly 75 mph just seconds before the airbags deployed.

Vlach bonded out of jail in November, but was rearrested after she reportedly violated the conditions of her bond.

A jury found Vlach guilty on all counts back in June, including vehicular homicide-DUI. She was sentenced Friday morning.

On Friday, the victim's family was in tears inside the courtroom. Before Vlach was sentenced, a few of them got up to speak. One of them said that the killings were a "compete and utter devastation" to their family. They asked that Vlach receive the maximum sentence of 62 years behind bars.

Afterwards, Vlach spoke to the courtroom. She was crying, and apologized for causing the deaths of Nicole and Alexander.
