The Governor has set the date for recall elections for two Colorado Democratic senators for September 10.
The Governor acted after a Denver judge refused to stop the recall elections for the two senators, even though the lawmakers are challenging the validity of the recall petitions.
Colorado Springs Senate President John Morse and Pueblo Senator Angela Giron argued the recall petitions against them are invalid because they didn't ask for an election for a successor like the state constitution mandates.
Both senators supported gun restrictions during the last session of the llegislature.
The lawmakers sought a preliminary injunction from the judge.
