An international fugitive wanted on murder charges was nabbed in Colorado Springs early Saturday morning.

According to Springs police, a suspicious vehicle was spotted in the Casa Grande parking lot, located on the 2400 block of South Academy. Police sat in the lot until the driver left the area, then officers followed and pulled the driver over for a traffic violation. Once face-to-face with the driver, police realized they were looking at Jesus Hernandez Huerta, wanted on an international warrant out of Mexico for homicide.

Huerta was arrested and then transferred to the custody of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

ICE expresses its gratitude for CSPD's assistance, as well as the cooperative efforts of the Department of Homeland Security and Mexican law enforcement officials.
