During the Black Forest Fire, residents continued a tradition begun during the Waldo Canyon Fire, turning out in droves to greet and thank the crews battling the fire.

11 News has compiled a slideshow of many of the touching images seen at the firefighter shift change and around town as citizens expressed their gratitude at the men and women on the front lines of the most destructive wildfire in state history, as well as those fighting the Royal Gorge Fire and other fires burning across the state.
