Hundreds turned out Saturday and Sunday for the Spartan Race at Fort Carson.
The race features 4.2 miles of grueling obstacles designed to push participant's strength and endurance to the limit.
Athletes crawl through the mud, climb walls, carry backpacks full or rocks and jump over smoldering wood.
KKTV 11 News talked to the winner right after the race.
"It feels great. I've done a lot of these. I kind of travel all over the country doing them and I've never won one," Chad Trammell said.
Besides getting dirty and completing the course, one couple decided they would get married after they finished.
