A firefighter is recovering in the hospital after he was injured battling a fire Thursday night.
The fire on 417 Broadway, near East Abriendo in Pueblo, started just before 10 p.m. in a vacant home. Firefighters say the house was full of smoke when they got on scene.
The firefighter suffered serious injuries, and spent the night in the hospital. At last report from the Pueblo Fire Department, he's in stable condition.
The two-story house has been under renovation. A spokesperson with the fire department said he's unsure if the owners are selling it or continuing to live in it.
The house isn't a total loss, but firefighter say it did sustain substantial damage--close to $40,000 worth.
