The waves of soldiers keep returning home--almost 500 soldiers and families have been reunited this weekend at the Mountain Post.
Tearful, joyous reunions continued Saturday when 225 soldiers from Fort Carson's 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division came home from a year-long tour in Iraq. After such a long absence, these reunions are always unforgettable for soldiers and their loved ones, but for one couple, Saturday's homecoming proved extra special. A returning soldier proposed on the spot to his stunned girlfriend, who told 11 News the engagement was "huge surprise." She said "Yes!"
Two hundred and fifty more soldiers with the 3rd BCT, 4th ID also returned Sunday night to a warm welcome from family and friends.
