Body Found In Debris Of Thornton Home After Explosion

Authorities have found a body among the rubble of a home that exploded in Thornton.

The house was ripped apart by the blast, which seemed to happen out of nowhere in the middle of the day Thursday. Neighbors described being knocked from their feet. Debris was found as far as a block away.

"The shockwave just hit us in our chest," neighbor Noah Russel told sister station KCNC.

One person was unaccounted for afterwards. A cadaver dog was deployed to the home, and did pick up a scent of someone who was at home at the time. The body, however, was not found until hours later.

It's still unclear what caused the explosion.
