Three motorcyclists were taken to the hospital after a driver reportedly turned left in front of one of the riders, setting off a chain reaction that sent the motorcycles skidding across the roadway.
State patrol says a rider on a 2013 Harley Davidson was riding west on Colorado 24 when a black truck turned left onto Crystal Peak Drive in front of him.
The rider hit the vehicle, possibly a black truck, and slid into the oncoming lane of traffic where a second rider on a 2007 Yamaha crashed while trying to avoid the first motorcycle, according to state patrol.
The driver on the Harley, identified as Kevin Campbell of Kansas, and his passenger were wearing helmets. The rider on the Yamaha, identified as Tommie Jones of Colorado Springs, was also wearing a helmet. All three were taken to Memorial hospital in Colorado Springs.
State patrol says the driver of the vehicle that turned in front of the bike left the scene.
Speed and alcohol are not considered factors in the crash, according to investigators.
The incident happened Saturday just after 3:30 p.m.
