Three people were detained after a high-speed chase on I-25 Monday evening.
The pursuit started near Fountain when state troopers tried to stop a car that had been reported stolen. The driver sped away, first northbound on I-25, then off the interstate, and back on to the freeway.
The chase didn't last long--the vehicle had only gone a few miles on the interstate before a flat tire sidelined it. The driver pulled over in Widefield, and three occupants were detained.
Troopers say the tire must have already been low, since no stop-sticks were used in the chase. Stop-sticks are used to puncture the tires of a fleeing vehicle.
Troopers are continuing their investigation into the chase.
