Good Day Residential order of suspension
An adult residential home in Colorado Springs has its license suspended because the owner and primary caregiver allegedly abused residents.
According to an order of summary suspension, the facility is called the Good Day Residential Home and is located at 2137 Lander Circle in Colorado Springs. The Department of Public Health and Environment conducted a surprise investigation of the facility on January 20, and found conditions that put the residents’ health and safety in danger.
The document says the owner and administrator is also the primary caregiver. He or she allegedly grabbed, hit, slapped and restrained both current and former residents of the home. The CDPHE found at least three who had bruises and injuries as evidence of that abuse.
The name of the owner/caregiver is not included in the document.
Residents interviewed during the surprise inspection allegedly expressed concern about getting “in trouble.” They also reported being afraid of punishment.
