A new medical facility in the Springs is aimed at helping patients with developmental disabilities.
There was quite a crowd at an open house at the Developmental Disabilities Health Center Thursday evening.
A number of health care providers in the area teamed up to provide the services, including Peak Vista, The Resource Exchange, HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital and AspenPointe.
B.J. Scott, the President & CEO of Peak Vista, says the new facility fills a big gap in DD primary health care, having one place where patients can get all their needs met.
She says "We believe that there is going to be a lot of people that will want to come check this out and be served in this special facility."
The DDHC is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Appointments are required. Call 719-632-5700 for information.
